Job Summary

Team Support Midlands are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of their client based in Birmingham for an experienced Transport Supervisor/Manager to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.

Hours: Working on a rota basis Mon – Fri (some flexibility is required as my client operate 24/7/365)

Salary: £30-35k per annum DOE

Duties: Managing a team of up to 15 Transport Planners to effectively manage all aspects of the transport function at site within financial controls ensuring legal compliance is achieved and company policies are followed in motor transport, health and safety.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities :

To plan staffing accordingly to delivery schedule requirements and ensure WTD compliance

Manage costs within budget.

Ensuring that legislation is adhered to.

Implementation and execution of relevant Health and Safety statutes

Implementation and maintenance of audit requirements, ensuring that records are accurate, up to date and meeting the required standard

Implementation and execution of relevant motor transport requirements

Fuel management

An awareness of customer requirements in order to meet requested delivery times.

Work cross functionally with other departments and central teams

Management of recruitment and disciplinary issues
